LAKE CUYAMACA’S GEOCACHE GAME

The staff at Lake Cuyamaca have devised a Geocache trail that should provide fun and outdoor activity for the whole family. The trail is 1.96 miles and takes about an hour to walk while looking for the hidden Geocaches. You may pick up the handout, which has the coordinates and a riddle that will give clues to the game, at the Tackle Shop on the West Shore. The Ranger will also give you directions for the Trail Head.

You will need to bring the following items:

bulletA GPS
bulletGood walking shoes
bulletWalking stick
bulletWater
bulletSun screen

Optional items:

bulletHat
bulletBackpack
bulletLight jacket or sweater
bulletTrail mix or energy bars
bulletTrash bag (If you pack it in, please pack it out)
bulletCell phone (service is NOT available in all areas)

Inside each Geocache container you will find:

bulletLog book
bulletPencil
bulletClue to the next Geocache site on the trail
bulletPlease return these items to the container after use

If your well-behaved and leashed dog accompanies you on this trail, please remember to bring water and baggies to clean up after your dog.

When you have finished the trail we would love to hear your comments and suggestions.

Important note: It is always a good idea to be aware of your surroundings when walking in the back country. There are everything from snakes to mountain lions in this area.
