The Main Lake GPS Map screen

This map allows you to select one of three areas on the lake. The area selections are: Dam Area, Dike Area, or South End. You can make your selection either by clicking the dark blue boxes on the map or by using the navigation boxes to the left of the map. All the areas are used in the same manner so, as an example, we will cover how to access and use the South End.

Select the South End from the navigation menu shown or click the South End box on the map.

The South End Structure and Fish habitat Map will appear.>>

This is a completely detailed map of the South End of the lake. Each white dot represents a unique fishing area. Once selected, you will be given complete fishing information pertaining to the area you have chosen. You will also notice that if you leave your mouse on the dot, a box will pop up for 5 seconds identifying the type of area you are about to select and view.

Observe the following example:

We are looking at close up view of the southern most split in the main lake channel. Our mouse is over the dot in the center of the channel split and is identified as "Rock Pile #5". Double click to select this area.

The South End Rock Pile #5 information page will appear.>>

This page gives a complete description of the area including a photograph of Rock Pile #5, a description of the area type, and what species of fish might be found there.

Longitude and latitude numbers are provided for Rock Pile #5, as well as, for a suggested boat position from which to fish the area. These numbers can be used with your portable GPS receiver to quickly position your boat to fish. Once you locate the area and are ready to fish, we even provide a suggested direction to cast to so that your lures or bait will be in the strike zone and produce success.

We hope this GPS Fishing Guide system will encourage you to use it to your advantage and improve your fishing on Lake Cuyamaca.

If you do not own a GPS receiver, you can purchase them in almost any sporting goods store. They are very reasonably priced and easy to learn to use.
